How Will RIC Leverage AI/ML to Improve User Experience?
The wireless industry has been using AI/ML to manage and optimize network performance and user experience for years, but the growing complexity of networks has made it nearly impossible to effectively manage them manually. The O-RAN Alliance identified the radio intelligent controller (RIC) as a network function to optimize RAN performance. However, the RIC poses new unique challenges in ensuring its success in a production network, including training and verifying the AI/ML models and keeping them current.
